This policy explains what StudyBudy collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using StudyBudy you also agree to our Terms of Service.
We collect your email address and display name, the flashcard content you create (decks, cards, text, and images you upload), and study activity used to power spaced repetition — ratings, review intervals, and timestamps. If you use AI features, the prompts, topics, documents, or images you submit are processed to produce your result. We do not store your payment card details; payments are handled by Apple and Stripe.
Your data is used solely to provide the Service: authenticating your account, storing and syncing your decks and cards across your devices, computing spaced-repetition schedules, enabling sharing you initiate, and generating AI drafts you request. We do not sell your personal data.
Content is private by default. It is shared only when you choose to — with friends or groups you add, or by publishing a deck to the public library. Content you publish to the public library is visible to anyone and may be copied by other users. Your username and display name are shown on content you publish or share.
When you use AI features, your submitted content is sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) solely to produce your result and is not used by us to train third-party models. AI output may be inaccurate — review it before relying on it.
You may delete your account at any time from the app's Account settings. Upon deletion, your authentication record is removed and associated data may be retained for up to 30 days before permanent removal, except where longer retention is required for legal, security, or transaction-record purposes.
StudyBudy uses Firebase (Google) for authentication, data storage, and hosting; Apple and Stripe for payment processing; and OpenAI for AI features. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport, access controls, and server-side security rules. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
StudyBudy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you are a minor, use the Service only with a parent or guardian's consent.
